Ridership Change

Ride Free Lafayette was launched in August of 2020 during the pandemic. Ridership has steadily grown over the last three years. Our peak demand hours have changed over the months as well- the system’s peak hours have generally moved earlier and now extend over a longer part of the day. In July and August of 2022, the RFL service a total of 1,339 in July and 1,999 in August, 7:00 to 8:00 am, 31 days of service.

The Lyons Flyer service was launched in June of 2022 to replace the RTD Route Y, which was eliminated during the pandemic. The service is a rural commuter and connector service and has had ridership steadily grow over the first year of service. The service provides three trips in the morning, the first one leaving Lyons at 6:10 am and arriving in Boulder at 6:47 am, and three trips in the evening between Lyons and Boulder, the last one leaving Boulder at 6:02 pm and arriving in Lyons at 6:35 pm, for a total of three round trips. The Lyons Flyer had 121 boardings, 20 days of service in July 2022 and 305 boardings, 23 days of service in August 2022.
