2023 Colorado Transit Awards

The 38th annual CASTA Awards Dinner took place on September 14, 2023 in Crested Butte, Colorado 

Denver, CO – The Colorado Association of Transit Agencies (CASTA) has announced the nomination categories of its 2023 Annual Awards. CASTA is the statewide trade association representing approximately 60 transit systems throughout the state, as well as local governments, planning organizations, and the bus industry. The CASTA Awards Program recognizes the contributions of individuals and agencies in Colorado with outstanding programs or projects, or who have made notable contributions to transit.

Transit Professional or Transit Team of the Year

Recognizes either an individual or team that has made outstanding contributions to the transit industry.

Large Community Transit Agency of the Year

Recognizes best practices implemented by or a project undertaken by a transit agency that serve communities of more than 15,000 people.

Small Community Transit Agency of the Year

Recognizes best practices implemented by or a project undertaken by a transit agency serves a community with under 15,000 people.

Human Services Transit Organization of the Year

Recognizes best practices implemented by an organization that provides transportation services for elderly and those with disabilities.

Resort Agency of the Year

Recognizes best practices implemented by a transit agency that serve communities higher than 6,600 feet in altitude and provides transit for tourist destinations.

Outstanding Coordination Initiative

Recognizes partnerships with non-transit organizations and individuals to accomplish something outstanding in their community.

Marketing Program of the Year

Recognizes an agency’s effective and innovative marketing program or campaign.

Transit Project of the Year

Recognizes an agency for developing and implementing a special transit project that sought to increase ridership or another agency goal.

Rural Transit Innovation Award

The “Rural Transit Innovation” Award recognizes an agency that has pioneered innovation in rural transit.
