The Town of Basalt increased the number of service hours during June through August to include 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. which was an additional five hours per day.  The ridership information for each month is provided for the entire day of operations not just the expanded service hours.  This service was not offered two months prior to June of 2023 therefore no data ridership data exists.  September through October ridership information will be provided when complete which is likely mid-November.

The added hours were a success for the fledgling micro transit service.  The feedback from riders was overwhelming positive, adding to the flexibility of the service which increased ridership.  There were no unanticipated benefits or challenges that came up during the time of the enhanced service.  We will be looking toward adding to this service in 2024 which will include 12 months of service.  If the opportunity presents itself, the CASTA grant would be welcomed by our ridership to enhance the summer hours to avoid gaps in service during the middle of the day.
