  • Municipal Vehicle Defensive Driving Certification - Instructor Course July 19, 2022  8:30 am - 5:00 pm

CASTA will be holding its first Municipal Vehicle Defensive Driving Course on July 19, 2022 at 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM at the CASTA Office here in Downtown Denver, Colorado. Not sure you should attend... Check out the course description below:

The CASTA Municipal Vehicle Defensive Driving Course delivers sound operator practices, experience from trainers in the field, and a curriculum tailored specifically for Professionals that operate a vehicle on behalf of their municipality. After we released DDTOC (Defensive Driving for Transit Operators Certification) we found that transit trainers around the state were using the curriculum to train drivers on other municipally owned large vehicles. We realized it would be a service to adopt the curriculum officially to train other large municipal vehicle drivers. While most of the best practices are consistent between the two programs, this new curriculum focuses on non-transit vehicle drivers. This 8 hour workshop covers the content of the MVDDC driver course and training techniques for instructing defensive driving to municipal employees. You’ll learn how to teach the CASTA Municipal Vehicle Defensive Driving Certification course through scenario based instruction, as well as, discussion about specific concerns related to your agency.
